The organic nature of art, which is beautiful in its imperfections, functions as a sign of life and a source of beauty as it exists in the fragile space between knowing and forgetting. We are brought up to believe that there is a separation between oneself and our surroundings; that we exist outside of nature; that we are separate.  However there is a moment while creating that the vision of a work of art is totally changed, and subject and object become one.  This moment of culmination between the conscious and subconscious mind is what drives me to create.  Through painting, I explore the bridge between visual and sound arts, consciousness, the realms of color field painting, and most importantly, love.  I see beauty as a companion, and paint with intention and fealty toward it.
