This large, original, abstract expressionist “action painting”, has the feel of a vintage New York School art movement work, with it’s neutral palette enhanced with splashes and dashes of spontaneously added color. Measures 36″x36″x2″, acrylic and light impasto on stretched canvas. Lots of surface texture, laid down in layers, wet-on-wet. Influences from the drip painting technique, the brainchild of Jackson Pollock, dominate this work which will enhance a variety of contemporary or modernist interiors.

Biomorphic figures in subdued, yet rich colors, suggest influences from the New York School art movement, in the “action painting” genre. As a non-representational work, this painting attempts to reach back to the point of inception of the creation of the New York School art movement, to capture the classic essence of the genre, from the perspective of a third generation artist, of this school. In seeking to maintain a feeling of the period for this work, it has been painted on a vintage canvas with wood self framed strips, which have been incorporated into the completed work.

Red Wine by Chateau Mouton Rothschild from Pauillac, France – Bordeaux. Every year since 1945, a great artist has created an original artwork for the Chateau Mouton Rothschild label. Thus, the most famous names in contemporary art are brought together in a collection to which a new work is added each year. Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, the owner of Mouton, has given the commission for the 2006 vintage to the British painter Lucian Freud, born in 1922, a universally acknowledged master of contemporary portraiture. In 2008, one of his works was sold for the highest price ever attained by a living artist. For the Mouton 2006 Lucian Freud has chosen a joyously exotic transposition of the pleasure of drinking, in which the vinestock is transformed into a springing palm tree and the winelover into a happily anticipatory zebra. Chateau Mouton Rothschild should be served between 17? C and 18? C. Decant between 30 minutes and 2 hours before serving, depending on the vintage.

Red Wine by Kenwood from Sonoma County, California. Our 2005 Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon is a luscious wine with great depth and focused tannins. It exhibits complex aromas of cassis, tea leaves and a hint of licorice. The wine is ready for enjoyment now but its full-bodied flavor will allow it to improve for many years. The 2005 Vintage marks the 31st release of Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Kenwood Vineyards. The harvest produced a bountiful crop of Cabernet Sauvignon with a distinctly rich and complex flavor that is followed by spicy and aromatic notes. After picking, the grapes were crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks and then settled and racked twice before going down to barrels in December of 2005. After 29 months of barrel aging the very best lots were carefully selected and then blended and bottled. After bottling, the wine was aged for an additional year and a half before it was released. Each year since the 1975 vintage our winemakers taste individual barrels of our finest lots of Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of aging and select only the best to become part of the Artist Series blend. The result is a flavorful and intense wine that represents less than 2% of our total Cabernet Sauvignon production. About the Artist Swiss-born German artist Paul Klee (1879-1940) was a major contributor to 20th century art not only with his paintings but also with his theory, teachings and written compositions. Influenced by travels to Egypt, his monumental Highway and Byways (1929) is a reflection of rhythm and proportion, an interpretation of landscape divided by vertical and horizontal networks. It is one of his many profound works that illustrate his ability to experiment with and invent new ways of expression.

Originally made as a one-off due to a wildfire that resulted in tremendously smoky grapes, this wine has become a NW signature Syrah. The current vintage is a blend of fruit from Mike Sauer’s Red Willow Vineyard, Art DenHoed’s Erickson Road Vineyard, and Bruce Morford’s Slide Mountain Vineyard, each located in western Yakima Valley. The blend is balanced by fruit from the cooler, smoky Lewis Vineyard in The Dalles, and the unctuous fruitiness of Elerding Vineyard located in Alderdale, WA. Deep plum and dark cherry perfume precedes the velvety texture with bushels of blackberry, peppercorn and black licorice playing against plush tannins.

This necklace is 26″ in length, and is more than just a necklace. It is a conversation piece, and a piece of wearable art. At the bottom of the necklace is a clear, yet slightly faceted glass ball with a picture of a simple tree inside. Connected entirely in different gauges and shapes of sterling chains, higher on the necklace are two mercury glass bubbles. They give reflection and interest.
